NRP Guide Empty NRP Guide

Post by Azuki Sun Dec 06, 2009 7:35 pm

This server is based on Naruto role-play.
Now I'm sure you've heard the term role-play before. Role-Play is having a character, getting a name only you can have, and doing your thing.

To be quite honest I thought such a thing couldn't be accomplished... When I first heard of it my first thought was 'Lame...', but after giving NRP a chance I really came to like it and I hope those of you reading this do too!

Eternity NRP is not a learn everything in a week kind of server...It takes time which is what makes it unique so don't expect to be speed-leveled and taught everything there is to know in a week.

Role-Play in this server is based off of Naruto so we call it Naruto Role-Play
(NRP for short)

We're the only one of our kind. This is the only server you'll find that employs naruto role-play with a kung fu system that mix's together perfectly.

This is what we require you to do to play in our server :

- 1. You must create a name for yourself.

It must be a unique name that no one else has.
an example of one is - Jack Stalker. It must be a last and first name.

In this server we strongly encourage you to make a name that seems or sounds Japanese since the entire Naruto culture is centered around and originated from Japanese culture.
- An example of a Japanese name would be "Ukiha Samuyo"

- 2. Your character must have a unique biography that you must stick to.

Your character doesn't have to have a submitted biography but it is strongly encouarged!

Your biography should include your Age, Height, Race, Background, and past.
Also if your character has any special powers first consult a admin and ask him about it. A group of admins will then talk about it and decide whether or not you may have it.

See the "Character Biographies" section if you want to create and submit your characters biography for the public to read and know about. (Its also a good way to check up on anything you forgot about on your character)

Models is also another issue. If you don't have a good or decent model pack to pick from and you see a lot 'Gordon' models, head over to the
'Custom' section > Models > and download the model packs from the links included in the stickied/pinned topics. (The ones on the very top)

To extract the models use WinRar.exe. Go to http://www.winrar.com. Download and install it. Then download the model pack file, open it with winrar and extract the files into your half life/ts/models/player folder.

How to perform a Jutsu
To perform a jutsu there are three very important commands that are vital for it to be completed. The following are those commands:
/think <---This is the first command you should be typing. It's proper usage is the the following: /think
/chakra <---This is the second command you should be typing. It's proper usage is the following: /chakra
/jutsu <---This is the third command you should be typing. It's proper usage is the following: /jutsu ; You then pick the hand seals in the correct sequence needed for the jutsu and then "Initiate" the jutsu to complete it.

The correct usage of these commands to create a jutsu is the following

/think cloneshuriken
/chakra 200
/jutsu ; Hand seals would be tiger, ox, horse, bird and then initiate. (No this isn't a actual jutsu...lol)

========
Basic Server and Player Commands:

nrp_show - Shows all of the players ranks and levels that are connected to the server at the time. (Must be typed in console)

/me - This is a action command used for rp purposes.

/action - This is used to pick up objects or use NPC's. (There are currently no npc's on the current map)

/player - This command shows the current rank, mission, and team that the player is apart of. Must be looking at a person while typing this command.

/pull - This command is used to pull a player towards you. Often used for getting people out places when there stuck.

/stats - This command takes you to your stat menu where you can put in your stat points to increase either your stamina, chakra, strength, or defence.

/shove - This command shoves a player

/equip - This command equips items that you have in your inventory.

/items - This command takes you to your inventory.

/sit - This command puts your model into the sit mode and already lays out the / me actions for you.

An example of a basic custom binded key is...
ex. bind f "say /shove"

An example of a advanced custom bind is...
ex. bind f1 "say / me increases speed ; cl_forwardspeed 9999"

An example of a advanced custom bind for a jutsu is...
ex. bind f1 "say /think cloneshuriken ; say /chakra 200 ; say /jutsu ; menuselect 8 ; menuselect 9 ; menuselect 3 ; menuselect 6 ; menuselect 1 ; menuselect 10"

Menuselects correspond to the number of a menu when accessed. Menuselect 10 corresponds to a option on a menu with the number 0.

Terms & Rules

There are many terms that reference to things you shouldn't do, here's a list of them.

Terms
=====
Death Match (DM) - Death Matching is the unprovoked, un-roleplay related killing of another player. 'Ban-able Offense'
If you feel the need to randomly hit people for no reason please do so in a Kung Fu or shoot 'em up server. (There also called DM Server's)

Revenge Kill (RK) - Revenge Killing is killing another player 'After' being killed by them. 'Ban-able Offense'

Metagaming - Taking knowledge you know Out Of Character and using it In Character.

Character Kill (CK) - Character Kill is the permanent killing of another players character. A Character Kill can only happen with the 'CONSENT' of the player being CK'd.

Out of Character Talk (OOC) - OOC is a talk system used for any general talking that doesn't relate to Role-Play. To use the OOC talk system simply press the 'u' button on your keyboard and begin typing.

In Character Talk (IC) - IC is a talk system used for 'Role-Play' talk. Any type of talking for role-play falls into this category. To use the IC talk system simply press the 'y' button on your keyboard and begin typing.

Close Range 'Out of Character' Talk (OOC) - Whenever talking to a nearby person about 'Out of Character' talk, please use this system. To use the Close Range Out of Character talk system, simple press the 'y' button and put 2 slashes before your sentence. Please do use this as it helps avoid OOC spam.

Ex. - //I wasn't on last night because I was watching the football game.

========

Rules
=====

1. Death Matching (DM) is NOT allowed. It is a ban-able offense.

2. Revenge Killing (RK) is NOT allowed. It is a ban-able offense.

3. OOC Spam is NOT encouraged and frequently the OOC system is shut down due to players spamming it so much that the players role-playing can't see what each other are saying.

4. Respect the admins at ALL times. All the players appointed as an Admin have a very bothering job. They are bothered frequently for stuff and complaining or insulting them does NOT help...

Also respect your teachers! Don't give them crap as it'll only prove to be counter-productive for you.

5. No ruining or interrupting role-play that you are NOT a part of... It is a ban-able offense. Observing role-play as a spectator is allowed...

6. There are also times people refer to a players unfair power as Power Gaming..
This term is often used with the wrong meaning. Power Gaming is when a player uses something he doesn't know in a role-play battle.

For instance, a Academy Student or a Genin ranked ninja goes /me channels chakra out of his fingers turning it into molten lava". You can't learn something like that until your Chuunin or Jounin ranked (Depending on your teacher). Anything you haven't learned from your teacher(s) can't be put to use into any role-play.

Any 'Jutsu Leaking' is a no questions asked ban-able offense.
Only players with the rank of Chuunin, Jounin, Sage, Kage, Missing-Nins, Sannin, or Kage are allowed to teach jutsu's.
==========

Mission Types
There are various types of missions and they are ALWAYS ranked on a scale of
S through D

S ranked missions are highly ranked missions that are extremely dangerous. They're usually appointed to only Jounin and Anbu.

A ranked missions are highly ranked missions usually appointed to only Jounin and Anbu. Sometimes Chuunin.

B ranked missions are a downgrade from 'A' ranked missions. They are still dangerous and are usually only appointed to Jounin, Chuunin, and ANBU.

C ranked missions are medium ranked missions that are usually appointed to Genin and Chuunin.

D ranked missions are low ranked missions that are usually appointed to Genin.

==========
Ranks

Academy Student - This is the first and beginning rank for all new players. Student's are taught the knowledge and 4 basic jutsu's overtime that is needed to take and pass the Genin Exams. Academy Student's do NOT participate in missions.

Genin - When you pass the Genin Exams you are assigned a team and Jounin as the leader of the team. Genin's are assigned D through C ranked missions. On special occasions are they assigned higher ranked missions.

Chuunin - You must take a Chuunin Exam to be given this rank. When you are assigned this rank you are also a teacher to Academy ranked students. You will teach them the basic jutsu's and knowledge to help them along their journey of climbing up the Ranks. Chuunins participate in low through medium ranked missions.

Special Jounin - They are specially appointed ninja that specialize in a certain field. They do participate in low through high ranked missions but they are not appointed the leader of a 3 Genin team.

Jounin - There is no Jounin exam. Jounin's are specially appointed ninja by the Kage. They participate in low through high ranked missions. Jounins are appointed as leader of a team that will consist of 3 Genin. The Jounin's job is to train the genins on his/her team the arts of Taijutsu, Genjutsu, and Ninjutsu.

Anbu - Anbu are the personal guards of the Kage. They participate in missions from fighting to intelligence gathering, along with surveillance of people.

Missing Ninja - Ninja who have deserted their ranks and their village for their own ambitions. They are allowed to teach what jutsu's they know but only to fellow missing ninja.

Sannin - A rank obtained by being a pupil of the Kage when they were genins. Only when they reach the proper level are they officially referred to as Sannin's.

Sage - A very powerful and experienced individual in the ways of the ninja. Sannin's are also referred to as Sage's.

Kage - The Kage rank is obtained by a single individual. This rank is appointed to a single ninja by the elders of the village they believe is best suited among the strongest ninja to lead the village. He/she is the chief commander over all ranked ninja's. The Kage is also the only one allowed to appoint missions to ninja.

**More ranks will be added Soon**
========
The Five Basic Elements

Katon - Katon is the "Fire" element.

Raiton - Raiton is the "Lightning" element.

Doton - Doton is the "Earth" element.

Suiton - Suiton is the "Water" element.

Futon - Futon is the "Wind" element.

========
The Advanced Elements

Lava - This is the advanced element of Katon. ; Comination of Fire and Earth

Wood - This is the advanced element of Doton. ; Combination of Water and Earth

Ice - This is the advanced element of Suiton. ; Combination of Water and Wind

Sand - This is the advanced element of Futon. ; Combination of Earth and Wind.

========
Types of Jutsu's

Taijutsu - The art of using physical combat techniques. This type of jutsu consumes your stamina.

Genjutsu - The art of using illusions and alternate realities to confuse and/or trap your opponent. This type of jutsu consumes your chakra.

Ninjutsu - The art of using the five basic elements in one way or another. This type of jutsu consumes your chakra.

Doujutsu - Doujutsu abilities are abilities that lay dormant in the eyes. These abilities are most commonly passed down genetically through bloodlines. Users of Doujutsu are able to use jutsu techniques only possible by possessing the eyes necessary to use it. Many bloodlines with doujutsu abilities are feared among the populace due to the power that lays dormant in the eye. But many are also respected for the good deeds they've done.

Some of the most powerful Doujutsu users are members of the Uchiha clan and Hyuuga Clan due to the powers and abilities that are available only to their bloodlines.

Fuuinjutsu - Fuuinjutsu techniques are the Ninjutsu sealing techniques of the ninja. They allow the ninja to contain the elements and demons and also allow ninjas to, through great sacrifice, seal souls to great suffering and despair. Most Fuuinjutsu techniques are often discarded and labeled 'Forbidden' due to the great sacrifices the user of the jutsu must make to activate it, and the unnatural power brought with the jutsu once it's activated.

If there are any questions that you still have unanswered after reading this guide please ask an admin.

To contact an admin in the server hit your 'u' button and put @ at the beginning of your sentence followed by what you have to say...

ex. - @any admins on?

If there's anything I left out or you see room for improvement in a area please send me a PM

**A new player came to the server asking me questions when I just got up and I didn't find any similar guide's up already so I figured I could just put this one back up. Makes it a lot easier. =S**
